It was interesting to note that better quality of vegetables/fruits/milk are arriving to Kerala from Andhra/Karnataka at lower cost now. This shows that we need not depend overly on Tamil Nadu's low quality/pesticide laden food items. :)

It was disgusting to read the views of the Tamilnadu Governer on the dam issue. He says that Tamilnadu will never give up rights on the dam. Does he think that Tamilnadu has rights on the lives/deaths of people who are in the firing line of the dam?

The first part of the dam break analysis by Roorkee IIT has been completed and the report submitted. As per their report, it is shocking to note that if the dam breaks, the water level will increase 40 meters near the dam and 20 meters near idukki dam. I hope the Supreme Court empowered committee takes a look at this report and use their good sense while giving the final ruling.

The problem is to be solved and the danger should be avoided. The Thamil Nadu politicians should not mislead innocent people. Thamil nadu should get water and kerala should be safe.

As the tests to ascertain the strength of the dam are going on, already clear indications are coming out that the amount of surky in the collected samples is zero/negligible. This is a STRONG vindication that the dam has lost its strength over the years. Tamilnadu's viewpoints/arguments on the strength of the dam are on the verge of utter FAILURE.

The new dam has to be built and owned and controlled solely by Kerala (Since it will be geographically located in the sovereign state of Kerala). Only this will ensure a strong dam and safety to its people. Their lives are much more costlier than the 600 crore odd Rupees that would be needed for the construction (Indeed, it is not a huge sum compared to some of the recent scams :) )....The only entitlement to Tamil Nadu would be a certain quantum of water on humanitarian grounds (can be same or more than what is being given now). I think that is fair for both the parties.

There is a big hidden danger if Kerala succumb to the pressure from Centre and Tamil Nadu government regarding the Mullaperiyar new dam ownership and control rights. Kerala mst under no circumstances agree to the joint-control option since the geographic area of the dam and its territorial waters are under the soul ownership of Kerala. Please awaken and stay away from another danger by doing a foolish act of agreeing to joint-ownership. Take a look at the below web-link to know more about this subject:

Even before the Tamilnadu Govt. agree to have discussion with Kerala Govt. on the dam issue, Kerala Govt. declared that joint control of the new dam is possible. And the whole water of the new dam will be for Tamilnadu !! Without telling the other conditions with regard to the payment, etc. !! When Kerala Govt. build a dam in their own territory using their money, why should they make such a unilateral declaration? It is so painful that we are succumbing to external pressures without any bargain. Perhaps, this may be due to the violence staged by some political groups against Keralites in Tamilnadu. Otherwise, the Congress High Command might have put pressure on Kerala leaders including Mr. Ommen Chandy to take such a dubious stand. Hundred years ago, our Maharaja succumbed to external pressure to sign the agreement. Now, our elected Govt. is also following the same line. Even after 100 years, the political under-current has not changed. The master continues to be the master and the slave continues to be the slave.

Who does the Dam belong to? If it is a Kerala Dam, why should our people beg the Tamils as they do it now?If it belongs to Tamil Nadu, how did they get it? Who gave it to them for an odd number of years??

Tamilians MUST trust Kerala government (who have been giving huge amount of water to TamilNadu for a paltry sum of around Rs.10 lakhs per annum for 116 years) when they guarantee that same amount of water would be provided even after new dam is built.
